Rain water tanks
Why not use that rain from your roof? Dave can hook up new pipework, pumps, sprinklers – you name it, he can do it!
LEAKING PIPES Leaking pipes can cause mayhem, whether a slow steady leak that rots a patch of carpet or floorboards before it's detected, or a sudden, dramatic flow of water that requires emergency attention. There are key measures that you can take to detect a problem before it turns into a significant expense - or worse causes damage to other parts of your home. Calling Dave to solve any leak issue, particularly if you are renovating, is the best practice.Signs of slow – small leaks:¨ Water oozing out of one place (obvious)¨ running along a pipe for some distance and appearing somewhere entirely different¨ mouldy areas, or areas that simply look or smell damp.
It's just as important to check the integrity of other structures that have been subjected to damp for a period of time (floorboards or walls, for example) as it is to repair actual leaks. Such items may have seriously rotted and therefore need replacing.
Hot Water Tank Issues? Is your hot water system giving your grief? Is it keeping up? Is its running cost ‘too’ costly? There are a number of things to consider when debating what to do with your hot water system. Perhaps you don’t have the right system for your needs or there’s a fault with your system or related plumbing. Is your tank large enough for your needs? There’s the obvious, that your usage outweighs the tank’s capacity, indicators are:¨ Your dishes are not properly cleaned by the dishwasher (unless it’s your dishwasher – but we can check on that too).¨ Your nice hot shower runs cold or cools rapidly.¨ You have to wait forever for your shower to get hot (the solution to this could simply be moving the hot water system closer to your water point)
Does it simply require fixing?
Certain signs, such as leaks near the hot water tank, hot water that is not clean or that runs more slowly than usual, or improper heating that is not the result of too small a system, can mean a problem with your tank. Many problems with hot water tanks are quite easily fixed, if you suspect a problem with your hot water system contact Dave and he will assess, discuss, and/or show you the problem and if required will repair your system - if on the other hand it is beyond repair Dave can discuss with you whether you wish to replace the tank with the same system or opt for a solar, gas or electric tank. Keep in mind - Electric Hot Water Heaters are set to be banned within the next 3 to 5 years.
